Prayer to Saint Joseph
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ Our Lord, so that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls—Pray for me.
This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1505 it was sent from the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whoever shall read this prayer or hear it or keep it about themselves, shall never die a sudden death nor be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them, neither shall they fall into the hands of the enemy, nor shall be burned in any fire, nor be overpowered in battle. Say for nine mornings for anything you may desire. It has never been known to fail, so be sure you really want what you ask for.

San José, cuya protección es tan grande, tan poderosa y eficáz ante el trono de Dios, en vuestras manos entrego todos mis intereses y mis deséos, O San José, asistidme con vuestra poderosa intercesión. Obtened para mí, de vuestro Divino Hijo, Nuestro Señor, todas las bendiciones espirituales que necesito. A fin de que habiendo conseguido, aquí en la tierra, la ayuda de vuestro poder celestial, pueda ofrecer mi gratitud y homenaje, al Padre más Amoroso. O San José nunca me cansaré de contemplaros con el Niño Jesús dormido en vuestros brazos. No me atrevo a acercarme mientras el Niño reposa sobre vuestro corazón. Abrazadle en mi nombre; y de parte mía, besad su fina y delicada cabecita. Luego, suplicadle que me devuelva ese beso a la hora de mi último suspiro. Esta oración se encontró en el cincuenta año de Nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. En 1505 se envió del Papa al Imperador Carlos cuando éste entraba en la batalla. Quien lea esta oración o la oya o la guarde alrededor de sí, jamás morirá una muerte repentina ni perecerá ahogado ni el veneno tomará efecto sobre él, ni caerá en manos del enemigo, ni será quemado en fuego ninguno, ni será vencido en la batalla. Dilo por nueve mañanas por lo que deseas. Jamás se conoció por fallar, así que asegúrate que realmente quieres lo que pides.
