The Legionary must be:

1. Grande y pequeño (?); distinguido y al mismo tiempo humilde servidor de todos; digno en cualquier situación.
   Great and small (?); distinguished and at the same time humble server to all; worthy (dignified?) in whatever situation.

2. Contemplativo y conquistador (?); enemigo de la pereza; sincero en su entrega (¿a quién? ¿al yo familiar indiferenciado que exige la conformidad?); constante en sus determinaciones.
   Contemplative and conquering (?); enemy of laziness; sincere in his self-giving (to whom? to the undifferentiated family ego mass that demands conformity?); constant in his determinations.

3. Fiel en las cosas pequeñas, y en sus relaciones con Dios (léase los superiores [i.e. supervisores]) y con los hombres (el subtexto viene siendo que los superiores no son hombres ... ¿mujeres?); confiado con sus semejantes.
   Faithful in the little things, and in his relations with God (read superiors [that is, supervisors]) and men (the subtext being that superiors are not men ... women?); confiding in his fellows.

    

4. Agradecido con los que le ayudan; amigo de sus enemigos (y ¿si la pereza es mi enemigo?); sencillo con los rectos (¿según quién?) y sencillos; sagaz con los hipócritas (léase los superiores?).
   Thankful to those who help him; friend of his enemies (and if laziness is my enemy?); simple with the righteous (according to whom?) and simple; sagacious with hypocrites (read superiors?).

5. Sincero, realista y eminentemente práctico (Un cristiano práctico? Hay un problema fundamental inherente en esta noción.); prudente en la determinación; enérgico y diligente en la ejecución; moderado y discreto en el hablar; amante del silencio, la justicia (¿Cuál justicia? ¡Dios mío!) y la sobriedad.
   Sincere, realistic and supremely practical (A "practical Christian"? There is a fundamental problem inherent to this notion.); prudent in determination; energetic and diligent in execution; moderated and discrete in [his] speech; lover of silence, justice (What justice? Good Lord!) and sobriety.

6. Perseverante hasta cumplir sus objetivos; fiel a sus promesas; hombre de convicciones y valores; otro Cristo. (A Jesus made of "convictions" and "values"? Well, that's novel at any rate. But evidently the Gospel portrays a far more single-minded Jesus that this convoluted institution would allow for.)*
   Persevering unto the completion of his objectives; faithful to his promises; a man of convictions and values; another Christ. (Un Jesús hecho de "convicciones" y "valores"? Qué cosa más nueva es esto. Evidentemente el Evangelio pinta un Jesús muchísimo más enfocado que esta institución permitiría.)*
