THINGS THE LEGION IS NOT BUT NEEDS YOU TO THINK IT IS

(Note: "We're really getting to them!" I've been getting spam on my "xLCRC" user account since posting this on http://www.xlcrc.com/--plus censored on Facebook--but I am far from complaining: I count that as encouragement--nay, even joy--so, since there have been no comments [doubtless due to the other members being likewise spammed by the same typical intimidation tactics], I think it's time to publish. I just wanted to see if anyone else has anything to add. God bless you. Let us purify Holy Mother Church BECAUSE SHE IS WORTH IT.)

-1- A leading and tireless promoter of nonpartisan orthodoxy, common sense and academic seriousness. (Please see the New Oxford Review and Thomas Aquinas College.)

-2- A particularly outstanding example of personal morality and ecclesial obedience. (Please see the writings of Baltimore Archbishop Edward O'Brien and Miami Archbishop John Favalora.)

-3- An utopian heaven-on-earth lifestyle rivaled only by Eden. (Unless you can be bought by ice cream this one is pretty self-explanatory.)

-4- The surest means to sanctification and salvation, since there is no free time in which to sin. (Okay, you get the idea. And, first off, not allowing members any free time? Gee, I smell a cult.)

-5- The best thing to happen to the Church since Jesus. (They especially love explaining how Maciel ["Nuestro Padre"] is better than Francis of Assisi, since, while the latter needed a conversion, the former was never off-track vis-à-vis God's call to him. There is also among the ranks the curious clamor for "Mama Maurita" [Maura Degollado]'s beatification. Nothing further, your honor.)

-6- The Pope's single most reliable ally against Communism. (Please see T.F.P. and Opus Dei. The Legion teaches modernism in their philosophy program (which I completed) while offering absolutely no refutation and no explanation as to its links to Calvin. Most people who defend the Legion defend unbridled Capitalism in the name of "healthy competition," manifestly not a Gospel value but a distorted, sordid view of practicality whose toleration Calvin championed and upon which all well-planned evil has since thrived in our world. I hardly have to spell out how unspeakably insidious is the thought that a Catholic would either nefariously or just hypocritically promote such demonic obscenities.)

-7- The only future the clergy (even the laity) have in this world. (They are not this [though I'll grant you clericalists]. Please see the Madonna House.)

-8- The leading experts on human nature. (On maniacally manipulating it, I'll admit. They can't even speak intelligently to the natural male-female differences. No, I'd far sooner recommend Fr. Donald Calloway than any Legionary!)

-9- A bastion of charity. (What they mean by charity amounts to what Jesus meant by hypocrisy: brown-nosing, essentially, so as to allow systemic wrongs to fester. So, in the sense in which they mean charity, absolutely, they're its #1 champion.)

-10- Prophetic. (Only to Catholics too isolated to know of the more reliable commentaries, insights and prophecies can Maciel and his followers appear to be "visionaries." We are obviously dealing with, at best, false prophecies paired with plagiarized commentaries all coordinated to create the illusion of legitimacy. Please see Fatima.)

(N.B.: Whom does Maciel plagiarize most blatantly? Well, first to mind is Saint John Bosco (whose order the Legionaries habitually ridicule as "too juvenile to be respected"), with Chiara Lubich at a close second ("Io voglio"). Other spiritual/prophetic greats include Saints Teresa of Avila (whose order must have some sort of immunity with them since they are so transparently keen on borrowing some semblance of legitimacy from St. Teresa) and Francis of Assisi (whose order they love to criticize [in astonishingly poor taste] as being even wealthier than they are). Maciel always sets himself up (and only keeps those priests who helps him bolster this image) as supreme in eschatological terms: the Legionaries literally have their own balcony seating in heaven. It seems he has gleaned from Catholic spirituality everything that he could twist into something presumptuous and self-aggrandizing. (Pretty darned amazing when you think about it!) This is where all Christian discernment fairly upchucks all things Legionary: no real Christian has the stomach for it, however much this fool's gold may glitter.)

-11- Wise, enlightened and certainly not sordid in their Mormonesque suppression of individual spiritual faculties.

-12- I kid you not: they actually claim to be the only thing appeasing Jesus' Sacred Heart lest God destroy the earth. I don't need to say anything more.

-13- Outstanding in their reverence toward the Sacraments. (Until Holy Mother Church forcibly stepped in, in the person of Pope Benedict XVI in a much belated intervention, Legionary Superiors heard their subordinates' weekly confessions as well as giving them spiritual direction, a deliberate and habitual abuse of the sacrament.)

-14- Singularly Christocentric. (The Legion has a legendary cult of personality built around its founder, one Marcial Maciel. They are sure he is in heaven. Even before his passing, if a brother mistakenly said [referring to Maciel], "When Nuestro Padre [Our Father] dies--" he would immediately be corrected, "When Nuestro Padre goes to heaven ... you were saying?")

-15- Heorically living out the Gospel and their baptismal promises in a world where all else are such slackers. (Okay, this self-important attitude in itself says quite a bit already. And *spoiler alert* they're living a very anachronistic [even fascistic] antigospel of prosperity from the 1940 and 50s which goes a long way in explaining why they're so popular with the scum of the earth, that is, the rich ["leaders"]. In inescapably stark contrast with this destructive human tendency, Jesus said "to them, 'The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them and those in authority over them are addressed as "Benefactors"; BUT AMONG YOU IT SHALL NOT BE SO. Rather, let the greatest among you be as the youngest, and the leader as the servant.'" and again, "'I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I HAVE CALLED YOU FRIENDS, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.'" [citations from the N.A.B.])
